Borrowed Time

“People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that’s what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life.

A true soul mate is probably the most important person you’ll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and smack you awake. But to live with a soul mate forever? Nah. Too painful. Soul mates, they come into your life just to reveal another layer of yourself to you, and then leave.

A soul mates purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, make you so desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life, then introduce you to your spiritual master…”

Heartfelt | Borrowed time

Desiderata
Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be critical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy.

What type of a female am i?

When i was born, my mom was busy with her school exams, which led to me having to forfeit breast milk and being raised by my granny’s older sister. So yes, i know not how breast milk tastes. Somehow i wonder if my addiction to boobies and full cream milk was caused by this.

A week ago, i went to a massage palour, got topless, climbed on the bed and shut my eyes. I think i blanked out my surroundings, because the touch of warm oil on my bare back was by far, more sensual than a kiss i had received earlier. How can such a notable feeling be unGodly? Yes devoted christians, i’m asking you. The woman’s hands, warmer than the oil came into contact with my skin; i let out a sigh that made her pause for a while. I always say, if i didn’t have a 9-5, i’d love women for a living. My sexuality is part of me, it’s not who i am. Before we get to my sexual interests, i am much more. A grandchild, a daughter, niece, sister, cousin, aunt, colleague, employee, friend, lover, enemy, citizen…. Then, i’m lesbian.

Culture

Joburg culture is intrusive. You get to a club, pay for a bottle to get a table (not all of us want to stand and dance all night). The most bizarre moment happens when the club manager “politely” walks up to you to ask if you’d mind sharing a table. The alcohol in your system prompts you to agree to share; bare in mind that when sober, i was going to say NO. Then when the crowd that needs accommodation pulls through, they look like they were waiting for a train to Polokwane at Park Station… That time i’m dressed to the nines, not due to vanity but because presentation is key in my line of work.

Let me let you in

Kisses that evoke my physical state, awaken my soul from slumber. The taste of mango and melon in summer and hot chocolate with extra foam in winter.
